Elisa Puvia is a Lecturer of Psychology in the Department of Psychological and Social Sciences at John Cabot University in Rome.
She teaches Cognitive Psychology and Psychology of Women and Gender, and has developed and taught a course focused on objectification and dehumanization. She received her Ph.D. in Cognitive Sciences from the University of Padua and has held research positions at the University of South Florida, the University of Kent, the University of Melbourne, and the Université libre de Bruxelles.
Her research focuses on the objectification of women, with particular attention to its cognitive and existential underpinnings, its cultural foundations, and its implications for perceived humanness and gender-based violence.
