Campbell, Christin
Institutional profile
Professor Campbell teaches courses in English Composition at JCU at all levels. Her courses foster a workshop-oriented atmosphere, where students strengthen their writing by participating in weekly peer review. She draws on a variety of texts, both contemporary and historical, including poetry, prose, and podcasts, to engage students in wrestling with contemporary issues such as sexism, racism, and fascism by examining them through a historical lens.
Her research interests include gender and sexuality in the ancient Mediterranean world and their influence on modern politics; folklore and fairytale; and Greek and Roman epic poetry. In addition to her work at JCU, she is a communications consultant at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and at the World Health Organization (WHO), where she works as an editor of various publications.
