Institutional profile
Anthony Jennings was educated in the UK and has lived in Italy since graduation. After twenty years teaching in Italian universities he moved into EU-funded projects, working as project manager, trainer and consulting expert, initially with the Ministry of Economy and later with almost every other branch of the Italian government, as well as national, regional and local public bodies. In this period he worked in most of the Eastern European countries, in a wide variety of sectors ranging from public health to law enforcement, regional development, education and finance.
Between 2010 and 2021 Professor Jennings was employed in the Nutrition Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations as a Capacity Development and Education Consultant, working with public health bodies and universities in Africa and India.
He is the author of several textbooks for the teaching of English literature, as well as The Last Carbonara, a memoir of life and running in Italy, a trilogy of historical novels set in first century Rome, and a novel based on the visit to Italy in 1754 by the English horse painter George Stubbs.
At John Cabot, Professor Jennings teaches English Composition and Business Communication. He aims to bridge the gap between ‘high’ and popular culture, moving away from a formalistic approach and attempting to foster the exploration, development and effective expression of one’s own identity.
