Professor Rodrigo Salcedo Du Bois specializes in the economics of natural resources and the environment; Agricultural Economics; and Development Economics, focusing on developing countries and rural areas. He is actively engaged in applied research for the design and evaluation of public policies for sustainable agri-food systems and rural development, conservation, restoration and sustainable management of ecosystems, with a focus on forests, water, land management and biodiversity conservation. He has extensive knowledge in project design and evaluation, non-market economic valuation, statistics, econometrics, management and analysis of geographically explicit information, and survey design and data analysis.
Professor Salcedo Du Bois has over 15 years of professional experience. He has worked for several international institutions such as the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the World Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), as well as for private consulting firms, such as GAF AG (Germany) and TYPSA International (Spain). He has worked on several projects in Latin America, Africa and Eastern Europe. He has also served as Director of Policies and Strategies of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (MIDIS) of Peru. Professor Salcedo Du Bois holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad del Pacifico in Peru and a doctorate in Agricultural, Environmental and Regional Economics with a dual title in Demography from The Pennsylvania State University. He also holds a diploma in Applied Statistics from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru.
Professor Salcedo Du Bois has over 7 years of teaching experience. He has taught economics courses at The Pennsylvania State University, The Catholic University in Washington, D.C.; the Universidad del Pacifico and the Universidad de Ingenieria y Tecnologia (UTEC), both in Lima, Peru. He joined John Cabot University in 2024.
