Institutional profile
Dario Biocca is a scholar of 20th century European history. He graduated from Sapienza Università di Roma and pursued a graduate education as a Fulbright fellow at Columbia University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. He has taught at various institutions both in the United States and Italy - including Stanford University, UC Berkeley, Connecticut College and Colorado College.
He is the author of Silone, La doppia vita di un italiano, edited by by Rizzoli, and has published essays and articles on academic journals and various media on contemporary history, biography and journalism. He is presently completing a volume on Rome under German occupation (1943-4).
Biocca teaches also in the Department of Political science at Università degli studi di Perugia and the Scuola di giornalismo Radiotelevisivo. He is a consultant for various television programs and history documentaries. He was recently appointed Faculty adviser at the American Academy of Rome and is member of the Scientific committee of Centro di studi superiori per la formazione e l’aggiornamento in giornalismo radiotelevisivo (RAI).
