The GI Billallowed multitudes of veterans to purchase homes and in trade provided them with a wealthgenerating asset that would lead to massive transfers of intergenerational wealth. However, thiswas mostly a one-side experience by white homeowners. African Americans were increasinglyshut out from participating through segregation and racial discriminatory tactics. Future AfricanAmerican generations have been hindered and it has left the legacy of a widening racial wealthgap.
